Elder Kathi J. Jones
Kathi J. Jones was born in Wareham, MA and raised in Springfield most of her life. She currently lives in Wilbraham where she has lived for the past 15 years and has been married to her husband Bishop Robert M. Jones for 35 years. She was nurtured in the ways of the Lord by her previous Pastor Rendia Collier and her spiritual mother, Pastor Ethel Barber of Connecticut. She accepted the Lord at the age of 25 and has endeavored to be faithful and to love the Lord with all her heart.
In the church she wears many hats, she has served on and over many departments such as Usher, Prayer Mission, Youth Department, Praise Team and Choir just to name a few. These departments have built up her knowledge in the ministry. Even today she still remains in the choir, a member since 1978. She loves to worship the Lord in Song.
1st Lady Jones is an Elder in the church. She oversees the youth, dance and food departments. She is a firm believer that whatever your hands find to do, you do that and she had no problem rolling up her sleeves and working in those ministries. She will give her last to those in need. She walks fervently beside her husband assisting him in all his endeavors. All though the financial task was hard while building the church, God has truly blessed her and her husband.
In the secular business world she has been employed at Health New England for almost 27 years in downtown Springfield. She has held such positions such as Enrollment Representative, Enrollment Supervisor, Member Service Supervisor, Finance Reporting Coordinator, Senior Applications Developer and now Developer System Analyst. She is a 2003 graduate of Springfield Technical Community College where she obtained her degree in Computer Programming. Notably, while both working and going to school, she never missed a service. Elder Kathi was recently accepted a postion on the Board of Directors for Caring Health Center in downtown Springfield, MA where she will now give back to the community and share her skills.
Bishop and First Lady Jones are proud parents of two sons (Robert and Matthew Jones), one daughter(Tisha Barber). Two of their children have accepted their calling into the ministry and the other one is on his way. They have five beautiful grandchildren with two on the way. Bishop and First Lady Jones remains a source of great strength and inspiration and is a positive influence for many. Together, they exemplify the gift of wisdom in working with people inside and outside of the church. Their dedication and unselfish service reflect the blessed hope of Jesus Christ for the church.
